David W. Harper

David W. Harper returned to the mountains after graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law in May 2015 and passing the July 2015 North Carolina Bar Examination. David’s practice focuses on representing injured employees in workers’ compensation claims, as well as assisting plaintiffs in personal injury lawsuits.

During law school at UNC-Chapel Hill, David was a Dean’s Fellow, served on the Honor Council, and was an intern with the Office of the Durham County Attorney. In addition, David was privileged to complete an externship with Justice Robin Hudson of the North Carolina Supreme Court.

David earned a B.A. in International Relations from Wheaton College in 2009. During college, David played linebacker for the Wheaton Thunder football team and was named to the Dean’s List. Prior to attending law school, David was an assistant football coach and worked with special needs students at Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

David grew up in Western North Carolina and was a captain and three-year starter at linebacker for the Smoky Mountain Mustangs football team. He enjoys hiking with his Belgian Malinois puppy, running and lifting weights, and volunteering at his church.
